Guided Kayak Tours / Kitty Hawk Maritime Forest
Join us on a Two Hour Nature Watching Tour through the Kitty Hawk Maritime Forest. Your tour guide will transport all necessary equipment and meet you at the tour site 4190 Bob Perry Rd, Kitty Hawk, NC 27949. (10 min S of Duck) Once there we'll instruct you on how to operate our beginner's friendly equipment. We offer very stable Single and Double kayaks.
Our tour guides are very friendly and knowledgeable on the Outer Banks' Barrier Island Eco-System.
YOUR TOUR BEGINS
In the Maritime Forest eco-system. From there you will paddle through the Salt Marsh, and into Kitty Hawk Bay, which is situated in the Albemarle Sound.
Once in the water, our guide will paddle along with you and identify the different species of native bird, amphibious mammal, and vegetation as you both navigate the calm winding estuaries of the Kitty Hawk Maritime Forest and the Salt Marsh.
ALONG THE WAY
You are most likely to see animals such as otter, nutria, egret, osprey, blue heron, duck, and several other native shore birds. We paddle at a very relaxed pace and arrive back at the same place we departed about two hours after entering the water.
THE TOUR
Is a great source of exercise that virtually anyone can do. We have had novice and expert paddlers of all ages and sizes join us on the tour.

In Season we offer scheduled tours at 10:30am and 4:30pm. We can take out up to 10 kayaks (single or double) at a time for a personal tour. Our double kayaks can accommodate a small child also (extra $25) with an add-on booster-seat sized third center seat.
We do recommend avoiding the hottest time of the day though, as the wildlife also avoid it. The highest volume of wildlife sightings are often on the more overcast or even rainy days. We do take tours out rain or shine. Be sure and ask about our Large Group Rates.
